Key takeaways
  • Across five brand catalogs we pulled this morning, 350 in-stock listings were priced under their own list price. 199 of them are leggings, capris, shorts or bras.
  • 82 of those 199 have exactly one size or length left at the sale price — two in five.
  • The cheapest legging we found anywhere today is not on a brand site. It is SATINA at $13.49 on Amazon, about a dollar off its record low.
  • Target's own clearance rack undercuts three of the five brand stores, starting at $15.00 for a pocketed high-rise legging.

Quick answerIf you want depth of size, buy the Baleaf 21" capri at $38.00: 27 combinations across four colors, XS through 3XL. If you want the lowest price per wear, the SATINA legging on Amazon at $13.49 is the honest answer, and no brand store came close.

Two brand stores cut prices hard this morning. One of them has almost nothing left in a middle size.

Which activewear prices dropped on Sept. 9?

These are the deepest markdowns that still had at least three size or length combinations available. Single-size clearance is covered further down, separately, because it is a different kind of offer.

Is the deepest markdown of the day worth buying?

The Girlfriend foldover at $29.40 is a real 70% cut, and $29.40 is below what Bubblelime charges for a typical legging. But look at what is left: nothing above M in the short inseam, nothing above S in the long one. Anyone who wears L or larger is reading a headline written for somebody else.

👉 The PopFlex Contour in Crimson is the opposite trade. Only 32% off, but 21 combinations survive, including 3X and a 6-foot-plus height.

We wrote up how we set a ceiling for each store in our buy-price rules for leggings, and the Girlfriend number clears that bar on price alone.

Does Amazon beat these brand-store sale prices?

Often, yes. Amazon does not show us a US dollar price directly, so we read the US price-history record for each listing instead. The figures below are dollars, from the US catalog, with the date each was last recorded.

Price-history record read Sept. 9, 2026. The full set of eleven listings, with averages and buy targets, is in today's Amazon price check.

One line there deserves a flag, and it is not flattering to a marketplace: Bubblelime's Amazon bootleg listing sits at $25.99 while a comparable bootcut on its own site is $16.00 today. Different colourway, same brand, a $9.99 gap.

What does Target charge for the same kind of legging?

Target is the route most deal roundups skip, and this morning it was cheaper than three of the five brand stores. Prices below are from target.com, shipped, checked Sept. 9.

Target itemPriceRegular
All In Motion Everyday Soft Ultra High-Rise Pocketed Legging$15.00–$30.00select items on clearance
A New Day High-Waisted Stash Pocket Legging$16.50$22.00

All In Motion Super Flex Ultra High-Rise 7/8 Pocketed$17.50–$35.00select items on clearance
Alpine Swiss Leila flare legging$29.70$55.00

Walmart: not checked this run. Its search page would not load for us, and we would rather leave a gap than print a guess.

How many of today's sale listings have your size?

Here is the number that decides whether a sale rack is for you. Of the 199 discounted apparel listings we counted, 82 had a single size or a single length remaining. That is 41%.

Girlfriend and Senita carry most of that thinness. Senita's steepest cuts today are all labelled in the product name itself — "S ONLY", "XXL ONLY" — which is honest of them, and also a warning. PopFlex and Baleaf are the two stores where a middle size still survives a markdown.

Where should you spend $20 today?

On the Senita Evergreen jogger, if you wear L or above. It is $20.00 from $49.00, it is final sale, and L, XL and XXL are all still there — an unusual combination, since final-sale racks are normally picked over at exactly those sizes.

Under $20 the answer moves to Amazon and Target. SATINA at $13.49 and Target's clearance at $15.00 are both cheaper than any full-price legging in the five brand catalogs we track, and both are stocked in a normal size run.

If you are shopping for a sports bra rather than a legging, the size question is sharper still, and we broke it out in today's sports bra check.

How did we check these prices?

We pull each brand's public product catalog, keep only what is in stock, and compare the selling price against the store's own list price. Nothing here comes from a press release or an affiliate feed. Amazon figures come from the US price-history record rather than a live page read, and we print the date of the last recorded scan so you can judge how fresh it is — the reasoning behind that is in our four checks for a fake sale price.

Yesterday's board, for comparison, is here. More daily boards sit in Today's Deals, sizing questions in our buying guides, and cold-weather kit in Running.

Sizes are the part people get wrong most often; Legging Size Guide keeps brand-by-brand charts, and Race Week Ready covers what to wear for the weather you are actually running in.
