Key takeaways
  • Across the five brand catalogs we pull each morning, 579 in-stock listings sat below their own list price. 298 of them are leggings, capris, shorts or bras.
  • 114 of those 298 have one size or one length left — 38 percent, close to the 41 percent we counted yesterday.
  • The deepest cuts anywhere are Senita maternity bottoms at $10.00, down from $46–$49.
  • Nothing on a brand site got near Walmart's $8.00 pocketed legging, which runs XS through 4X.

Quick answerFor the lowest cost per wear, the honest pick this morning is Walmart's Athletic Works ButterCore pocket legging at $8.00 in XS–4X. If you want a technical pair that will still have your size on Friday, the Baleaf 21-inch capri at $38.00 has 28 combinations running to 3XL.

Something odd happened overnight. The steepest markdowns are not leggings at all — they are maternity pants at ten dollars. And a legging we listed yesterday costs two dollars more today, still wearing a fifty-percent badge.

What went on sale overnight, and what quietly went back up?

Markdowns below still had at least three size or length combinations left. Single-size clearance is a different animal, covered further down.

What changed in the 24 hours since yesterday's board?

We keep our own record so we can answer this, which most deal pages skip. Below is yesterday's Sept. 9 board, re-read this morning.

Girlfriend Kiwi Foldover$29.40$29.407 → 7

Five of six did not move a cent. The sixth is worth a closer look.

Yesterday that plum legging read $18.00 against a $36.98 list. This morning the identical three combinations — XL at 26 inches, M and L at 28 — read $20.00 against $39.98. List up three dollars, sale price up two, badge unchanged at roughly half off. Fifty percent today instead of 51.

Nobody lied. The discount is real against the number printed beside it — but that number moved overnight, which is the exact mechanism behind our four checks for a fake sale price. We flag it on a brand we link to, because a board that only flatters its partners is not a board.

Why is the biggest discount of the day a maternity pant?

Senita clears its maternity line harder than anything else it sells. Ten dollars for a 26-inch pant that listed at $49 is the cheapest technical bottom on any of the five brand sites we track, and two of the three still run XS to XXL — a size spread that almost never survives an eighty-percent cut. All are final sale.

Said plainly: a maternity pant has a belly panel a non-pregnant runner will not want. Narrow bargain, not a general one. If you are not shopping maternity, the After Hours pant at $15.00 does more with the same money.

What do the same styles cost on Amazon this morning?

Amazon does not hand us a dollar price from where we sit, so we read the US price-history record instead. Figures are dollars, US catalog, with the date each was last recorded.

Amazon listingLast recordedListRecord lowLong-run average
SATINA high-waisted legging$13.49 (Aug 27, 2026)$26.99$12.32 (Jan 8, 2026)$17.31

Bubblelime side-pocket bootleg, 29"$25.99 (Sep 6, 2026)$25.99$20.79 (Aug 4, 2026)$24.25

Price-history record read Sept. 10, 2026. The wider set of eleven listings, with buy targets for each, sits in our Amazon price check.

One line still deserves a flag. Bubblelime's Amazon bootleg listing is $25.99, while a comparable navy pair of bootcut yoga pants on the brand's own site is $16.00 today. Same brand, different colourway, a ten-dollar gap favouring the brand store.

Is Walmart or Target cheaper than any of it?

Both, on the plain stuff, and the gap is not close.

The catch is what you give up. None are compressive, none claim to be squat-proof leggings, and the pocket on an eight-dollar pair is a pocket in the loosest sense. Fine for dog walks. Not for lifting — see our buying guides for why that seam placement matters.

Which sale still has a size you can actually wear?

Here is the number that decides whether a sale rack is aimed at you. Of 298 discounted bottoms, shorts and bras, 114 had a single size or a single length left this morning. That is 38 percent.

Senita labels those in the product name — "S ONLY", "XXL ONLY" — which is honest, and also a warning. Girlfriend does not, and its two seventy-percent leggings stop at M in the short inseam and S in the long one.

Baleaf and PopFlex are the two stores where a middle size survives a markdown. That is why a 32 percent cut on a Baleaf capri is worth more to most readers than a 70 percent cut that ran out of Larges in August. We set out the ceiling we use for each store in our buy-price rules.

What would we put $30 on today?

The Senita After Hours pant at $15.00, XS through XL, plus a Walmart ButterCore capri at $5.00 as the second pair. Twenty dollars, one real workout bottom and one lazy Sunday bottom.

If your size is a Large or above and you want a high waist yoga pants style that will not bag at the knee by November, spend the whole thirty on nothing today and wait for the Baleaf capri to reach $34.00. It has been there before.

Shopping for support rather than bottoms? Yesterday's sports bra board still holds, and today's running-specific markdowns are in our fall running gear board.

How we checked these prices

We read each brand's public catalog directly and record price, list price and every size in stock, rather than copying a promo banner. Amazon figures come from the US price-history record, because a scraped Amazon page returns a block or a foreign currency from where we sit. Target and Walmart were read on their own sites the same morning. A listing counts as discounted only when the seller's own list price is higher than what it charges today.

Earlier boards sit on the Today's Deals hub; the running side lives at Running, bras at Sports Bras, and the first board we published is Sept. 8.

Do these brand prices change during the day?

Yes, and the plum legging above is the proof. We check once, near 1:30 a.m. ET, and stamp the time on every table so you can judge how stale a number is by the time you read it.

Is a maternity pant usable as a normal legging?

Only if the belly panel does not bother you. It is soft and unstructured on both Senita styles, so some people wear them as lounge pants. Nobody should buy one expecting compression — compare against the leggings section instead.

Why does Walmart beat brand stores by so much?

Different fabric, different construction and far larger production runs. An $8.00 legging is not a $38.00 legging that happens to be cheap; it is a thinner knit with a lighter waistband. Our price history section tracks how often each tier actually discounts.
